Journeying through the year in the visual language of flowers.
Inspired by the quiet messaging of the Victorian Era’s floriography (the visual language of flowers), I spent several months dreaming up a collection that would capture the essence of a wild garden intentionally planted to mark the passing of time — with measurements of when becoming moments of where.
And so, Echoes of the Garden: A Year in Bloom began taking form.
Throughout 2025, I’ll release paintings to represent each of the twelve months — with specific flowers emerging from a spectrum of hues that come together to tell the stories of our humanity. Mirroring the emotions and rhythms that come to life every year, the paintings will carry echoes of rest, love, resilience, rebirth, joy, ache, change, and beyond. Rather than envisioning time as a calendar, gazing at these pieces will be like a quiet walk through a communal garden that promises to hold our hearts well — no matter the season.
May this be your invitation to wander here in the garden — witnessing the blooming abstraction of flowers as their petals converse with the wind. I hope their echoes meet you, wherever you find yourself in the unfolding.
