to be PART of the SYMPHONY {I-XII}
Twelve individual paintings, created in a single symphony of hues and movement across the canvas. While I hope for these pieces will find homes far and wide, their links between each other cannot be undone. No matter how far each link stretches, these paintings belong to each other — simultaneously connecting the humans who bring them into their homes.
And isn’t so much of our existence just that? — realizing more and more through the days of our lives that we are all far more connected and similar and kindred than we are different. We long, we cry, we mourn, we carry each other’s burdens, we laugh, we dance, we celebrate, we need water, we need light, we live, we die, we need each other, we need a Savior.
We belong to each other. We belong to the body of Christ — as long as Christ dwells in us. Different parts; one body.
So yeah, these little paintings are a reflection of that great truth.
Oh, to be part of the symphony.
“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:4-5
